Post-FMA glow
Princess West <3 events. I think there should be a word for it. “Event-ing” ? OK that’s a lousy word, but yes, it was great fun getting dressed up, getting free food and even better – free booze. By far a better event than many as it was sponsored by a champagne company AND Belvedere vodka. Not many events pour vodka over ice straight to their guests, but damn, the FMA’s sure did!
To get these perks, you do need to spring for the VIP tix which were $100 a pop, but it’s always well worth its value. I sat 2nd row next to the runway, got my nifty swag bag and enjoyed the special VIP lounge at the show and at the afterparty. Tons of photogs and plenty of air kisses to go around.
My outfit? I settled with a white linen dress (very anti-fall) from Bebe, white patent Stuart Weitzmans and a white Chanel purse. My fave of the night? Pamela Masik’s black Herve Leger dress. Elegant, classy and her best accessory – her son! Now she was one hot mama!
I’m a Rockstar….
Pink’s new song is running through my head…
So what?
I’m still a rock star
I got my rock moves
And I don’t need you …
If I was going through a break-up that would SO be my theme song. And my revenge outfit? Smoking hot. Probably a simple tight white-T with a pair of TR Rockstar Stella’s ($218). And a vest. And loads of accessories. I love the trompe l’oeil pockets!! And shipping to Canada is only $19.95!! Kinda makes me want to go through a break-up just so I can strut it like a rockstar singing Im a rockstar wearing Rockstar Stella’s. HA. Or I can just go and get a pair…
Nothing to wear…?
So I am attending the FMA Gala this Saturday night and I have nothing to wear. Let me rephrase that, I have nothing to wear that I haven’t already worn and been photographed in. In all technicality I have plenty to wear, but in reality I have nothing that I CAN wear. Seriously, my wardrobe budget has grown exponentially since the creation of Facebook. Not following? OK here’s how it works. I go somewhere – a party, a dinner – whatever, I take some nice pics I put them up because sharing is caring, right? NOPE! Sharing turns into a fashion headache! Say a few months (weeks?) down the road I want to rock the same outfit, which I coulda (and woulda) done provided it’s (a) with a completely different group of people and (b) in a totally different location. However, now that we’ve got FB I can’t cuz if I put up these or someone tags me it’s so over. Why? Cuz it looks like I have all of three outfits to my name and I’m now recycling them. Yes. Very lame. But also very UN-true. However, since that’s apparently the new world order I have to get me a new outfit or shun being photographed. Not that anyone really cares, but hey you think it, I think it – as soon as we see a chick rocking the same outfit on her FB page and immediately it’s like wow, doesn’t she have anything else to wear?
Soo… I am off to Boudoir on Friday to hopefully snag myself a cute lil dress to wear to the event. (That or go back and selectively delete old pictures) I was invited to their Pamper & Shop event happening tonight, but I’ve been pre-booked to do lashes at Noir, otherwise I would so go! I haven’t even had to do my own yet! Who knew September would be so busy? There’s also the ION magazine party this Friday night at Moe’s, which I’m still debating on attending.
Keep u posted!
That was so last season
I was going to post something about how much I loved my outfit du jour (vintage Dior sunnies and Tory Burch flats) until I saw tonight’s episode of Gossip Girl and Blair shot down a newbie for wearing the flats that were apparently so last season. The newbie replied that she got them on sale to which B rolled her eyes. I bought mine on sale, too!
So Princess West isn’t exactly Fifth Avenue material, but hey, they were on sale. Who can resist? And really, come on now – they’re still adorable and very user-friendly.
So welcome to my style blog. I hope to keep you informed, in fashion and definitely, if all else fails – highly entertained.
